W. Brett Wilson has been an active investment banker for more than 25 years and enjoys extensive knowledge of Canada's resource sectors. In 1993, he co-founded FirstEnergy Capital Corp., a Canadian brokerage firm that provides investment-banking services to Canada's energy-based industries. Since inception, FirstEnergy has participated in thousands of financing and merger and acquisition projects valued at over $200 billion.
Following his tenure as Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Wilson stepped back from active duty at FirstEnergy in 2007, but remains an investor in the firm. He is also Chairman of Prairie Merchant Corporation, his private merchant bank focused on business opportunities in the energy, agriculture, real estate, sports, and entertainment industries. Mr. Wilson was a panelist on the top-rated CBC reality show Dragons' Den and is host of Slice TV's new show Risky Business.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan (1979), a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary (1985), and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Royal Roads University (2010).

Nevin Markwart has extensive experience managing investment teams and financial products both in Canada and the United States. Most recently he was Head of Canadian Equities and a member of the executive management team at Fidelity Investments Canada. Previous experience includes senior responsibilities with Wellington Management and Standish, Ayer and Wood, Inc., both investment advisory firms based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Nevin holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Northeastern University in Boston and is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder and Certified Financial Planner.
Prior to his investment career, Nevin was the Boston Bruins' first pick in the 1983 NHL entry draft and enjoyed a nine year NHL career from 1983 to 1992 with the Boston Bruins and the Calgary Flames.
Renata Colic has more than 13 years of financial analysis and accounting experience with a specific focus on business development and financial and regulatory reporting. Renata initially joined the Canoe team as Director of Finance and Investor Relations before becoming Chief Financial Officer in January 2011. Immediately prior to joining Canoe, she was with Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. where she was the Manager of Accounting Policy. From 2005 to 2007 she was Manager of Corporate Reporting at Harvest Energy Trust. From 1997 to 2005 Renata worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP, leaving as Senior Manager from their Assurance and Advisory Services group.
Renata has a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2000.
Supriya Kapoor has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry of which, approximately 15 years has been focused on regulatory compliance for investment fund managers, portfolio managers, and dealers. Prior to joining Canoe, Supriya was Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Mulvihill Capital Management Inc. and previous to that, held positions at Assante Advisory Services, BMO Investments Inc., Manulife Financial and Price Waterhouse (now Price WaterhouseCoopers).
Supriya is Chair of the Investment & Corporate Governance Committee of the Portfolio Manager’s Association of Canada, and she is a member of the Canadian Committee of the National Society of Compliance Professionals.
Supriya holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Queen’s University and the Certified Public Accountant designation.
Darcy Hulston has more than 20 years of practical sales management and marketing experience in Canadian financial services. Darcy has hired, managed and mentored numerous sales teams. Prior to joining the Canoe team, Darcy was at IA Clarington, where he was Vice President Sales, Western Canada Sales Manager. Previous to IA Clarington, Darcy was Regional Vice President at Fidelity Investments Canada and prior to that he was with TD Bank Financial Group. Darcy was a five-time Award of Excellence winner with TD Financial Group and a three-time President’s Club winner with Fidelity Investments.
Darcy has completed a three-year program of study with the Securities Institute of America at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia.
Jodi brings nearly 20 years of experience in marketing, investor relations and corporate communications in several industries including financial services, oil & gas and mining. Prior to joining Canoe, Jodi was Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations with Yamana Gold Inc.
Jodi has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI).
